And then there were 4...

Yesterday's Recap:  The Fox walked all over the Loffs Bay residence.  Not even close.  Equally strong was the Ferris High School project which all but owned the Pend d'Oreille residence. 

Today's Matchups:  As last week's polls dragged on for what seemed like forever, this week is moving ahead at pretty good clip.  Already we're into the Final Four with two solid matchups taking place. In the Left Bracket the Kennedy Apartments face the Hospice House which ran over the WSU Academic Center in Round 2.  In the Right Bracket is The Fox Vs. Ferris.  Two big projects that share little if any common ground.  How this one will turn out is anyone's guess.  Sweet interior Vs. a sweet exterior?  You make the call in the polls below.  The Quarterfinals begin now.

Day 5 - Friday's Recap: West Valley and Academic Center shut down

Friday's Recap:  The potential for a full on academic run on the Left bracket was quelled on Friday.  A full eight of eleven entries in the Left Bracket were academic projects, but overcoming the odds in the first match up of Round 2 was the Hospice House.  Hospice trumped WSU's Academic Center to advance to the Quarter Finals tomorrow.  In the second matchup, as one commenter put it two projects, "with strikingly similar roofs," went head to head.  In the end the Kennedy Apartments overcame West Valley setting up a North Side/South Side Quarter Final.

Today's Face-off:  20th century art deco takes on 21st century exuberance as The Fox takes and the Loffs Bay residence meet.  The second match up has South Hill's Ferris High School and the swanky Pend d'Oreille residence.  It's up to you now.  Who deserves to advance to tomorrow's Quarterfinals?  Polls below...

Someone has a 'hate-on' for Banner Bank

Our new modern fav the Grant Building had one of it's construction signs defaced.  Disgruntled office worker?  Mortgage applicant turned down?  Anarchists who've had enough of opportunistic ATM fees?  We're not sure, but nothing screams protest like scrawling on an improvised construction sign.

Day 4 - Round 1 closes, Big name projects advance

Phew!  We made it.  Round 1 is behind us, but we're not slowing down.  Nay, we're plowing ahead with Round 2 and things should move pretty quickly.  Two projects face-off today and all but one are big public structures. 

The first poll sees West Valley HS which won by a huuuuuge margin in round one squaring off against the Kennedy Apartments.  The Kennedy Apartments bested the uniquely named sn-w'ey'-mn and Kroc Center in Round 1.  Poll two has the Academic Center which barely made it out alive of the first round by only two votes facing the Hospice House.  Will it be a Cougs-Zags smackdown in Round 3, or will the low profile projects reign?  Polling begins below.
