Over the past few years there have been a number of films shot in Spokane. Who can forget Cuba Gooding Jr. in Endgame, or even Chuck Norris' The Cutter? Classics. OK not really, but a new film may just reverse this sorry track record.
The Wayne Wang (The Joy Luck Club) drama A Thousand Years of Good Prayers is set to be released on September 19th and it's already garnered an award or two at the San Sebastian film festival. The bonus: From the footage in the preview below there are some fantastic scenes of Spokane. The movie will hit our must see list if for no other reason than to see Spokane through this director's lens. The downside: It's not listed as playing in Spokane as of yet.

Hey for once that movie doesn't look too bad, Magnolia is also a really good distributor (mostly with documentaries).
The nice thing is that it doesn't really glorify the city but makes it look decrepit with all the shots down third an second which amuses me.

Where was the picture on the poster taken?

the poster picture looks like one of the benches on lake coeur d'alene just above the public beach.
