The slick sign out front is a good indicator that the quiet revitalization continues in the Perry District. Opening this summer, and occupying the former location of an antiques store, ROOTS - Salon and Spa is a welcome addition to the Perry Street nabe. Roots will offer a full service salon and day-spa and will bring an entire new crowd to the district while diversifying the existing collection of small neighborhood businesses already present.
Anyone who's had a hair cut recently can attest that the salon and day-spa industry is a big dollar business. Done right, they can be a serious anchor business leading to more boutique and single purpose stores nearby.
For fans of Spokane, it's a good sign that our neighborhood business districts are not only surviving, but growing up and becoming destinations for clientèle and the local businesses they support.

This, of course, is a welcome addition to our neighborhood. Thanks for helping to spread the word.

I live just around the corner and can't wait for roots to open. Such a cool thing to see this little section of town ramping back up again.
