Abandoned for decades but not forgotten, it looks like a rehabilitation plan for the Iron Bridge may have some legs. On numerous levels this project is a no-brainer: It expands the network of the Centennial Trail, improves connectivity
for bikes and pedestrians through East Central-Logan-University
District, brings attention to a sorely neglected stretch of the river,
etc.
Still one should never underestimate the ability of a few decent renderings to change
your perspective on a place. The rendering above and the one below show what a restored
bridge could look like. We've always been big fans of this stretch of our river, so we're
stoked at the idea of this thing eventually opening up for public use (gotta do something about that invasive spotted knapweed too).

The Iron Bridge is one of a handful of important connections the city can capitalize on -- here is a link to one of my favorite route ideas that this bridge could help make real:

Finally. Now let's make sure this poorly neglected stretch of the river and the east bank can become green/public space for all to enjoy. We don'tneed more cheesy apartments along the bank

This area has so much potential, I'm glad to see it begin to live up to it.

The renderings and idea are great but what is the process for making it happen? Last I heard there were some holdups with funding and lead paint.

I agree The bridge is way more important than condos, it will serve more people good in the long run.
