...Viaduct, meet Truck. Happening by the incident, Todd Sackmann snapped this pic on his iphone yesterday and dropped into the MetroSpokane photo pool. Stevens Street and the viaduct is a bit tighter than it looks. Not a good way to end the day.

I've happened by that viaduct 3 times in the last 4 years where a truck has done that. Looks like that guy was too tall by a foot or so and bounced off alright. One of the trucks I saw under there was just a wee bit big and got jammed under there pretty good.

I've worked near this part of the viaduct for the past five years, and this happens about every couple of months. As the photo above shows, the billboard on the viaduct is much larger than the height warning signs, so I think that is part of the problem.

I saw that the other day, and to be frank,I'm not very surprised. In fact it's the 3rd or 4th time I've seen that happen. The last time it happened the truck was just a centimeter too tall, so it managed to get under there but the container just burst open. Good stuff.

Man, that will make his day VERY long. I once rode shotgun in a cab that did just that, elsewhere of course, and I just about had to change my pants afterward.
