Spokane is blessed with an incredible inventory of parks and open spaces. Hands down, the gem of our park system has to be Manito Park. Built at the turn of last century, and who's design and growth was heavily influenced by the Boston landscape architecture firm of the Olmstead Bros., it is ninety acres of bliss. Perhaps the biggest reason we admire this area is the diversity of park offerings. Within its boundaries the park boasts: Playgrounds, picnic areas, natural areas, a Japanese garden, a conservatory, a formal European-style garden, perennial garden, and a rose garden that is home to over 1,500 roses.
