The world of online realestate continues to get better and better. Via the Seattle PI this morning, the latest enhancement comes from Trulia. They've officially integrated Google Streetview with their real estate listings in those cities that Google currently has photographed. In total that's 40 metros where streetview is available.
Windermere, which previously had used Google Maps, switched a few months back to Microsoft's Virtual Earth and with it brought us the Birdseye view. The Birdseye is nothing more than a very low-angle high-resolution image from above. It's a different take on visualization of place and quite frankly richer than the now common "spy"-satellite view.
The images above come from Trulia's Google Streetview and Windermere's Microsoft Birdseye View. Off the bat we noticed Trulia is easier to link to while Windermere makes it really difficult to just cut and paste a link to a listing. Individual users will have their reasons for one over the other, but see for yourself and talk it up in the comments below.
- Google Streetview comes to Spokane [MetroSpokane]
Well I'm impressed by both! Congratulations to both Windermere and Trulia for making it easy for the consumer to check out their new neighborhood. I "birdseyed" my home in the Spokane Valley (thank goodness the images are from the summer ) and was both freaked out by the detail and wowed by the detail. I "streetviewed" our old home in Browne's Addition and was equally impressed by that. If you have not checked it out yet you should!
