Touching Base: Fuller Academic Center gets glassy

Fuller1 UNIVERSITY DISTRICT - Long pined after, the W.P. Fuller building finally became a Gonzaga asset last fall for $1.4 million.  Prior to that it sat idle after briefly housing an awkward public/farmers market, and playing host to one detached "Ultimate Bagel" sign which taunted nearby college students for what seemed like years.

As of last week though the place is looking sharp with a complete collection of new windows that are truly dressing the place up.  From the inside it's all glass, concrete and more light than you could ever need given the huge window openings.  With the Kennedy Apartments Phase II to the North getting close to wrapping up and now this renovation making progress, this entire two-block area has been completely transformed in the span of three years.  At the current rate of expansion, it's only a matter of time until G.U. jumps Ruby St. and consumes all of the much coveted Burgan's Furniture block [insert evil laughter].   Either that or the freshly vacated CompUSA site.
