Midtown is on the rise
[Midtown - Coeur d'Alene, Idaho ]
COEUR D'ALENE - Next time you're in Coeur d'Alene swing on up to Midtown on 4th Avenue and have a look around. It's not nearly as glamorous and spiffy as downtown, the sidewalks aren't embellished with bricks and fancy street lights, but it's a great little business district that has it's own vibe.
As of late there's been a good amount of owner investment in the area as well - buildings painted, windows uncovered, and storefronts rehabbed. For you Spokanites think Garland but longer and a little wider. A few tatoo parlours, a couple of pubs, restaurants, and some interior design shops all provide an interesting mix if you have some time on your hands. Unfortunately the paired one-way couplets of 3rd and 4th avenue run through here, but walking is still pleasant.
It looks like you've provided pictures of places located 6-13 blocks from Sherman. Over the past 8-10 years, "midtown" has been redefined as anything south of Best, north of Harrison. The area you've shown is sort of 'in-between' downtown and mid-town (south of Harrison and north of Sherman). Homes in the area you've shown are considered 'downtown' homes. HTH.

Hey Christina, You're right, some of them are closer to downtown than the others. We lumped them all together because it was such a nice and easy walk from one to the other. That and they seem to hail from a similar era as well. We should have been more clear on the location...can you tell we're from outta town?
